Hi, I'm Kim Tang
Front-end developer crafting high-performance web experiences with React, Next.js & TypeScript. Building products that reach 150,000+ users.
About
A bit about me
I'm a Sydney-based front-end developer with a background in Electrical Engineering from UTS. After graduating, I discovered my passion for building things people actually interact with — and pivoted into web development.
For the past 4+ years at Akcelo, I've been delivering pixel-perfect, production-ready applications for high-profile clients like McDonald's, A-League, and Queensland Airports. I specialize in translating complex Figma designs into scalable, performant UI using modern React ecosystems.
I care deeply about performance, clean architecture, and building component systems that scale. Whether it's a campaign microsite serving 150K+ users or a multi-site CMS platform, I bring the same attention to detail.
Experience
Where I've worked
Front-End Developer
Akcelo, Sydney
- Develop pixel-accurate, production-ready React/Next.js applications for high-profile clients including McDonald's, A-League, and Queensland Airports
- Architect reusable component systems and Storybook-documented design patterns across headless CMS platforms (Sitecore, Magnolia, WordPress)
- Implement client-side caching strategies to reduce AWS Lambda API calls, lowering backend load and infrastructure costs
- Automate S3 deployment workflows using AWS CLI scripts, improving release speed and reducing deployment errors
- Integrate front-end applications with AWS services (S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, Amplify) and consume REST/GraphQL APIs

Projects
Featured work
McDonald's Campaign Microsites
Delivered interactive, high-traffic campaign microsites achieving 150,000+ active users. Built local storage caching to reduce API calls, set up automated AWS CLI deployment scripts, and iterated rapidly through launch and post-release fix cycles.
A-League Websites
Contributed to the front-end migration from legacy WordPress to a modern Next.js/GraphQL stack, building shared component libraries consumed across multiple league and club sites, improving speed, maintainability, and UI consistency.
Queensland Airports
Developed a multi-site suite of airport websites using Magnolia CMS with headless architecture, creating reusable templates and modular components for scalable content delivery across properties.
